Facts about Office Chairs

All office chairs are not created equal. In fact, if you purchase the wrong type of office chair, you may pay for it in back pain and other uncomfortable aches. By doing a little research into what type of office chair you need, you can select the most comfortable seat you want.

One thing you may not know about office chairs is that each chair is rated for use for a specific amount of time. Some chairs, for example, are only supposed to be used for a few hours before you get up and take a break. If you sit in these chairs for longer than the recommended time, you may start to feel some aches and pains. If you’re going to be sitting in your office chair for four hours or more, you’ll definitely want to look into a chair that’s rated for long-term use.

It’s also important to look at what sort of lumbar support the office chair offers. If you have had back pains or need a little extra support, you’ll want to get a chair that offers the support you need. You’ll also want a chair that can be adjusted to give you that perfect height. If you have a low desk, you may need to look at how high your chair arm rests are. Some may be too high to fit under your desk. In fact, you may even want to get a chair without arm rests if you don’t think you want them

Finally, if you purchase a rolling chair, you may need to pick up a plastic floor mat if your home office is carpeted. Otherwise, you may have issues rolling your chair away from your desk.
