Loft apartments can be incredibly cool, but they can also be incredibly small. Lofts often require unique, space-saving furniture to truly make them loop open and uncluttered. While you may be able to fit standard sized beds, sofas, and other furniture in some lofts, in others, you’ll need to look for loft-specific items.
One of the best space-saving ideas is an expandable table. These tables start out as a small, four-person table, but with just a few moves, you can turn it into a long eight-person table with plenty of eating space. These tables are also great if you need to have some extra surface space every now and then. If you do scrapbooking or work on projects that need to be spread out but then need to use the space for something else, this type of expanding table is perfect.
A tre’ table is another interesting piece of furniture that can be transformed for various uses. Unlike normal tables, a tre’ table is created from one piece of wood that is contoured. It starts out as a standard table, then drops down before rising up again in a wave shape. When used horizontally, this creates a flat desk space with a space to store books or papers. If you set the tre’ table up on its end, it suddenly becomes a taller table that makes a great laptop desk.
Finally, a daybed can add extra space to your loft’s bedroom area. During the day, you have a nice sofa that can work as your main seating area. Then, at night, you convert it into a bed. In fact, you can even push it back against the wall during the day to open up more space, then pull it out and flatten it down into a bed when you’re ready to sleep.
