Part of the reason people think cheap modern furniture doesn’t exist is because all they see are the very unique, expensive pieces. Yes, a chair that looks like something out of a Van Gogh painting will probably cost a lot of money, but not all modern furniture is this different or costly.

However, these storage items and shelves don’t look cheap at all—they certainly look better than items you would pick up at a department store! What’s more, they don’t look like something you bought in a box and put together. Each has its own style instead of looking like a box.
Often, cheap modern furniture is made out of materials that aren’t quite as costly. For example, a lot of cheap modern furniture makes use of metal and glass. Some modern desks, for example, use strong metal supports instead of big pieces of wood. This not only means that fewer materials are used, resulting in a lower price, but also that the furniture is often very strong. It’s also easier to put together since you have no big, bulky wooden pieces to deal with.
